The Faith Community Nurse at St John's Northcote - Gods gift to the parish, comes to us courtesy of the Estate of Kath Evers-Swindell and Selwyn Foundation. The role of Faith Community Nurse is primarily to minister in the medical field to the over 60s in the parish - active church members or otherwise.

January 08 - After three wonderful years of parish work, Margaret has had to resign. So, in the meantime the work of parish nurse is on hold, awaiting input from our new vicar.

Our prayers go with Margaret and Pete

What is Faith Community Nursing?

It is based on the understanding of the role the Church plays in Healing Ministry, and a need to revert to Health Care that focusses on the whole person.

It encompasses Health Promotion, wellness and Disease Prevention of all age groups in the faith Community for which it serves.

It is a Professional model of Health Ministry co-ordinated by a practising Registered Nurse, seeking to integrate body, soul mind and spirit, nurturing the growth towards wholeness though Jesus Christ, the source of healing..
